Fix A Mistake Or Revert Unwanted Changes In The Web Editor
Learn what to do when you change the wrong thing in the Web Editor, use Undo to step back through recent edits, and use style recovery actions when one selected block looks wrong.
This guide explains what to do when a recent change in the Admin Web Editor was not what you wanted.
Use it when:
- you edited the wrong section
- a recent style change made the selected block look worse
- you want to step back through recent changes instead of rebuilding them manually
- you need a quick recovery path before saving the page
Start With Undo If The Mistake Just Happened
If the mistake happened very recently, start with Undo.
This is usually the fastest way to recover from:
- a wrong content edit
- a wrong block move
- an unwanted style change
- a recent action you want to reverse right away
Use Undo from the floating toolbar to step back to the previous state.
Use Undo More Than Once If Needed
If one step is not enough, keep using Undo to move backward through more recent edits.
This helps when:
- you changed too many things in a row
- you are not sure exactly which step caused the problem
- you want to return to an earlier stable point before continuing
Move back one step at a time and watch the page update after each click.
Use Style Recovery When Only One Block Looks Wrong
If the problem is only with the selected block's styling, use the recovery options inside Styling instead of stepping backward through unrelated page edits.
This is most useful when:
- spacing became inconsistent
- typography settings no longer look right
- colors or layout changes affected one block only
Use The Style Menu To Reset Or Clear Styles
Inside Styling, some compatible blocks show a small ... menu.
Use it when you want a faster reset for the selected block.
This menu can include:
- Reset Style to return the selected block to its baseline style values
- Clear Styles to remove the applied style classes from the selected block
These actions are useful when the styling problem is limited to one block and you do not want to undo other recent work elsewhere on the page.
Decide Between Undo And Style Reset
Use Undo first when:
- the mistake happened just now
- the wrong change was recent
- you want to reverse the last few editing steps in order
Use Reset Style or Clear Styles when:
- the problem is only visual
- the problem affects one selected block
- you want to keep other recent edits on the page
What To Expect When Undo Is Unavailable
If there are no earlier edits left to reverse, the Undo button becomes disabled.
When that happens, OpenMirai has no more recent history steps available in that direction.
If the selected block still looks wrong, check whether the Styling menu offers a recovery action for that block.
What To Do Next
- use Undo first if the mistake happened very recently
- use Reset Style or Clear Styles when only one selected block looks wrong
- review the canvas after each recovery step
- save the page again after the page is back in the state you want
