Clear All Blocks From A Page In The Web Editor
Learn how to use the Clear Canvas action in the Web Editor to remove all blocks from the current page, review the confirmation step, and avoid clearing the wrong page by mistake.
This guide explains how to use Clear Canvas in the Admin Web Editor.
Use this action when you want to:
- remove all blocks from the current page quickly
- start the current page layout again from an empty canvas
- clear a page before rebuilding it with different sections
Before You Start
Open the Web Editor from System > Platform Customization.
Then open the page you want to change in the builder workspace.
Before using Clear Canvas, make sure you are on the correct page. This action affects the page you currently have open in the editor.
What Clear Canvas Does
Clear Canvas removes all blocks from the current page.
Use it when you want to empty the page instead of removing sections one by one.
This is mainly useful when:
- the page structure needs a full reset
- you want to replace the existing layout with a completely different one
- the current page content is no longer needed
Open The Clear Canvas Action
The Web Editor includes a Clear Canvas control among the quick editing tools.
Select this action when you are ready to remove the current page content.
OpenMirai does not clear the page immediately. It first opens a confirmation step so you can review the action before it happens.
Review The Confirmation Dialog
When you choose Clear Canvas, a confirmation dialog appears.
This dialog helps prevent accidental clearing of the page.
At this step, you can decide whether to keep the current content or continue with the reset.
Choose Cancel To Keep The Current Page
Choose Cancel if you opened the action by mistake or if you want to keep the current page content.
This closes the confirmation dialog and leaves all existing blocks in place.
Choose Confirm To Remove All Blocks
Choose Confirm when you are sure you want to clear the page.
After you confirm, OpenMirai removes all blocks from the current page.
The canvas then becomes empty so you can start rebuilding the page.
What To Check Before Confirming
Before you confirm, review:
- that you opened the correct page
- that you really want to remove all current blocks
- whether starting from an empty page is the best option for the change you want to make
If you only need to update part of the page, it may be better to edit or remove specific blocks instead.
When To Use Clear Canvas
Clear Canvas is most useful:
- when rebuilding a custom page from scratch
- when the current block structure is no longer useful
- when you want a fully empty starting point before adding new sections
What To Do Next
- add new blocks after the page becomes empty
- rebuild the page structure in the order you want
- preview the page after rebuilding key sections
- save the page once the new layout is ready
