Edit Block Content And Wrapper Settings In The Web Editor

Learn how to use Block Settings in the Web Editor to update selected block content, work with inputs, selectors, and toggles, and manage optional wrapper settings when they are available.

This guide explains how to use Block Settings inside the Admin Web Editor.

Use it when you want to:

  • change the content of a selected block
  • update block options without changing the visual design first
  • work with fields such as text boxes, selectors, and toggles
  • adjust wrapper settings when a block includes them

Before You Start

Open the Web Editor from System > Platform Customization.

Then open a page and select the block you want to edit from the canvas or the Outline panel.

After that, use the right-side panel and open Block Settings.

What Block Settings Are For

Block Settings are used for content-focused changes on the selected block.

This is the right place to start when the block content, label, option, or behavior is wrong but the overall visual styling is not the main problem yet.

As a simple working order:

  • fix text, labels, and block options first in Block Settings
  • move to Styling only after the content is already correct

What You Can Find In Block Settings

Depending on the selected block, the Block Settings area can include:

  • the main form for the selected block
  • an optional wrapper settings card

These sections help you manage both the block content itself and any connected wrapper settings that belong to that block.

Edit The Selected Block Form

When a block supports editable settings, OpenMirai shows the selected block form in the right-side panel.

This is the main place to update the block.

The form can include controls such as:

  • text inputs
  • selectors
  • toggles
  • other field types used by that block

As you update these fields, OpenMirai reflects the changes in the selected block quickly.

Use Wrapper Settings When Available

Some blocks can also show a separate wrapper settings card.

Use this section when the block has wrapper-specific options in addition to the normal content fields.

The wrapper card can include:

  • an expand or collapse control
  • a label showing the wrapper type
  • an optional wrapper name

This helps you see when extra wrapper-level settings are available for the selected block.

Expand Or Collapse The Wrapper Card

If the wrapper settings card appears, you can expand it when you want to edit those extra settings.

Collapse it again when you want to keep the right panel simpler and focus on the main block fields.

This is useful when wrapper settings are available but not always needed for the current edit.

What Happens When Fields Change

As you work in Block Settings, OpenMirai can update the selected block quickly in the page canvas.

This helps you review the result while you edit instead of leaving the right panel to check every small change.

What Happens If No Block Is Selected

Block Settings only works when a block is currently selected.

If nothing is selected yet, OpenMirai can show a message such as Select a block to edit instead of the normal form.

If that happens, choose the block first from:

  • the page canvas
  • or the Outline panel

Then the right-side form updates to match that block.

What Happens If Editing Is Restricted

In some builder states, OpenMirai can show a permission message instead of editable block fields.

This usually means the current block or current access level does not allow changes from this panel right now.

Why Some Fields Appear Or Disappear

Some fields in Block Settings can appear or disappear based on the current block conditions or the options you choose.

This is normal.

It means OpenMirai is only showing the settings that are relevant for the current block state.

When To Use Block Settings

Use Block Settings first when:

  • text or labels need to change
  • a block option is incorrect
  • a toggle or selector needs to be updated
  • the selected block has content-focused changes before styling work
  • wrapper options need adjustment for the selected block

What To Do Next

  • update the selected block fields and review the result in the canvas
  • open wrapper settings if the block includes them
  • move to Styling after the content is correct
  • preview the page after important block changes
  • save the page once the updated block looks right
