Manage Categories In The Admin Platform

This guide explains how to use the Categories page in the Admin Platform.

Use it when you want to:

• search for a category quickly
• sort the category list
• create a new category
• rename an existing category
• delete one category or several categories

Open The Categories Page

To open the categories list:

1. Go to Management > Categories.

This page helps admins manage the categories used across the platform.

Understand The Categories Page

At the top of the page, OpenMirai shows:

• the Categories title
• the number of results
• a Selected mode toggle
• a search box
• a Create Category button

Below that, OpenMirai shows a category table.

Use this page when you want to manage category names in one place.

Search Categories

Use the search box to find a category by name.

This is helpful when:

• your organization uses many categories
• you only remember part of a category name
• you want to update one category quickly

Sort The Category List

The table header includes a sort control for the category name column.

Use it when you want to:

• review categories alphabetically
• group similar names together
• scan the list more easily

Understand The Category Table

The table shows:

• a checkbox for selecting a category
• the category name
• an action menu for that row

Important detail:

• category rows are list-only on this page and do not open a separate detail page when selected

Create A Category

Use the Create Category button when you want to add a new category.

OpenMirai shows a dialog with:

• the Category name field
• a Create action

To create a category:

1. Select Create Category.
2. Enter the category name.
3. Select Create.

If the field is empty, OpenMirai can show a validation message before the category is saved.

Edit A Category

Use the row action menu when you want to rename an existing category.

To edit a category:

1. Open the action menu for that row.
2. Select Edit.
3. Update the category name in the dialog.
4. Select Update.

OpenMirai keeps you on the same page and refreshes the list after the update.

Delete One Category

Use the row action menu when you want to remove one category.

To delete a category:

1. Open the action menu for that row.
2. Select Delete.
3. Confirm the deletion.

OpenMirai warns that this action cannot be undone.

Turn On Selected Mode

Use the Selected toggle when you want to work with multiple categories at once.

In selected mode, you can:

• select several categories with checkboxes
• open the bulk action menu
• delete multiple categories together

This is useful when you need to clean up several categories in one pass.

Delete Multiple Categories

After selecting categories, OpenMirai can show a bulk Delete action.

OpenMirai shows a confirmation dialog before the selected categories are removed.

Use bulk delete carefully, because the page warns that the action cannot be undone.

If No Categories Are Found

If no categories match the current view, OpenMirai can show an empty state.

This can happen when:

• no categories exist yet
• your search does not match any category names

Try clearing or changing the search to see the full list again.
