Create a Product in the Admin Platform

Learn how to create a new product in the Admin Platform, including product type, media, pricing, visibility, stock, and the setup needed for physical products.

This guide explains how to use the Create Product page in the Admin Platform.

Use it when you want to:

  • create a new digital product
  • create a new physical product
  • create a product that includes both digital and physical delivery
  • set the product price and visibility before publishing later

Open The Create Product Page

To open this page:

  1. Go to Management > Products.
  2. Select Create.

OpenMirai then opens the Add New Product page.

Understand The Create Flow

The page is organized into three main sections:

  • About
  • Payment
  • Visibility

The page also includes:

  • a step list on the left so you can move between sections
  • a save bar for creating the product

Use this page to enter the product’s main setup details before managing it further from the products list.

Complete The About Section

The About section is where you define the main product information.

This section includes:

  • Title
  • Level
  • Cover Photo
  • Preview Video
  • Product Type
  • Categories
  • Media
  • Description
  • Quantity in Stock for physical products

Important details:

  • Title, Level, Cover Photo, Product Type, and Description are key fields for creating the product
  • Cover Photo uses image upload with a wide crop
  • Preview Video is optional
  • Description shows a character count and has a 500-character limit

Choose The Product Type

OpenMirai lets you choose one of three product types:

  • Digital product
  • Physical product
  • Both (digital and physical)

Choose the type that matches how learners will receive the product.

If you select Physical product or Both, OpenMirai also asks for Quantity in Stock.

Understand The Address Requirement For Physical Products

Before you can create a physical product, your organization must have a complete organization address saved.

If the address is incomplete and you try to select a physical product type:

  • users with access to organization settings see a dialog that offers Go to Settings
  • users without that access see a message telling them to contact an administrator

Use this check to make sure physical products are only created when the platform has the required address information.

Add Product Images And Media

The page uses different media fields for different purposes:

  • Cover Photo is the main image shown for the product
  • Preview Video can be selected as an optional preview
  • Media lets you add extra gallery items and change their order

OpenMirai also validates media limits. In this flow, the page supports up to 10 images and 1 video in the media gallery.

Set The Payment Type

The Payment section lets you decide whether the product is:

  • Free
  • Paid

If you choose Paid, OpenMirai shows a price field and an estimated income field.

Important details:

  • the price must be greater than 0
  • the income figure is an estimate after payment processing fees
  • some plans may lock paid products and show an upgrade message instead of allowing the paid option

The page also shows a note that subscription plans for products are managed separately in the Admin Platform.

Set Who Can Access The Product

The Visibility section controls who can find or open the product.

Available visibility options are:

  • Public
  • Unlisted
  • Internal (By Domain)
  • By Tag
  • Private

Use these options as follows:

  • Public: visible in the marketplace, search, and direct link
  • Unlisted: hidden from marketplace and search, but still available by direct link
  • Internal (By Domain): only signed-in learners with approved email domains can access
  • By Tag: only signed-in learners with at least one matching profile tag can access
  • Private: hidden from discovery and direct links; admins control access separately

Add Domain Or Tag Restrictions

If you choose Internal (By Domain), OpenMirai shows an Allowed Domains field.

Use it to add one or more email domains that are allowed to access the product.

If you choose By Tag, OpenMirai shows an Allowed Tags field.

Use it to select one or more learner tags that should be allowed to access the product.

These extra fields only appear when the matching visibility type is selected.

Create The Product

After completing the page:

  1. Review the information in each section.
  2. Use the save bar to create the product.

If the product is created successfully, OpenMirai returns you to the Products list.

Continue Product Setup After Creation

Creating the product does not complete every later management step.

After the product appears in the Products list, you can open it again to continue product management, such as:

  • editing product details
  • managing publish or hidden status
  • finishing physical-product setup such as delivery options
  • reviewing ratings and reviews

Cancel Or Leave Without Saving

If you do not want to keep your current work:

  1. Use the save bar cancel action, or
  2. leave the page before creating the product

If you have unsaved changes, OpenMirai may warn you before leaving.

If The Page Shows Validation Errors

If something is missing or incomplete, OpenMirai shows validation feedback in the affected section.

Common examples include:

  • missing required product details
  • missing stock quantity for physical products
  • invalid price for paid products
  • unsupported media combinations
  • missing access rules for restricted visibility types

Review the highlighted field, correct it, and try again.
