Manage Admins And Template Roles In The Admin Platform

Learn how to use the Admin Platform admin directory to search admins, invite new admins, manage account status, and create or edit reusable template roles.

This guide explains how to use the Admins page in the Admin Platform.

Use it when you want to:

  • find an admin quickly
  • filter the admin list
  • invite a new admin
  • change an admin’s access status
  • remove a pending invitation
  • add categories to an admin
  • delete an admin account when allowed
  • create or manage reusable template roles

Open The Admin List

To open the admin directory:

  1. Go to Management > Members > Admins.

This page is used for both admin account management and template role management.

Understand The Admins Page

At the top of the page, OpenMirai shows:

  • the Admins title
  • the number of matching results
  • a Selected mode toggle
  • an admin type filter
  • a search box
  • an Add template role button
  • an Invite button
  • a filter panel

Below that, the page has two tabs:

  • Members
  • Template Roles

Use the Members tab when you want to manage admin accounts.

Use the Template Roles tab when you want to create or maintain reusable permission sets for admins.

Search Admins

Use the search box to find an admin by name or email.

This is useful when:

  • your admin team is growing
  • you need to open one admin profile quickly
  • you want to review a specific invitation or account

Filter The Admin List

Use the admin type dropdown to narrow the list.

The current options are:

  • All Admins
  • Active Admins
  • Inactive Admins

You can also use the filter panel to narrow results further.

Depending on your data, the filter panel can include options such as:

  • categories
  • admin type or template role

Use The Members Tab

The Members tab is the main list of admin accounts and invitations.

Each row can show details such as:

  • admin name or invited email address
  • setup or invitation status
  • role badge
  • assigned categories
  • an action menu

Understand Admin Status And Role Badges

Admin rows can look different depending on their current state.

For example:

  • Pending invitation rows show the invited email address and a pending badge.
  • Some rows can show a message that the admin is still waiting to create their profile.
  • Deactivated rows show a deactivated badge.
  • Role badges can show Super Admin, a saved template role name, or a standard admin role.

These states help you understand whether the person is fully active, invited but not ready, or temporarily inactive.

Open An Admin Profile

Select an admin row to open that admin’s profile.

Use the profile page when you need more detail, such as settings or permissions.

Pending invitation rows and setup-only rows do not open a profile yet. They stay in the list until the admin finishes enough setup to become a normal admin account.

Use The Row Action Menu

Each admin row includes an action menu.

Depending on the admin’s status, available actions can include:

  • Add Categories
  • Set Inactive
  • Set Active
  • Remove Invitation
  • Delete

Use these actions when you want to manage one admin at a time.

Add Categories To An Admin

Use Add Categories when you want to organize an admin into one or more groups.

When you select this action, OpenMirai opens a category selection dialog. After you apply the change, the categories update in the admin list and in the admin profile.

Set An Admin Inactive

Use Set Inactive when you need to stop an admin from accessing the Admin Platform for now.

OpenMirai asks for confirmation before applying the change.

After that:

  • the admin row shows a deactivated state
  • the admin can no longer access the admin panel until you reactivate the account

Set An Admin Active Again

If an admin is already inactive, the action menu shows Set Active.

Use this when you want to restore that admin’s access.

Remove A Pending Invitation

Use Remove Invitation when an invited admin should no longer be able to join using the current invitation.

OpenMirai asks for confirmation before removing it. If you want that person to join later, you will need to send a new invitation.

Delete An Admin

Use Delete only when the admin account should be permanently removed.

OpenMirai asks for confirmation before deletion.

Some admins cannot be deleted from this page. For example, Super Admin accounts are excluded from delete actions.

Turn On Selected Mode

Use the Selected toggle when you want to work with several admin rows at once.

In selected mode, you can:

  • select admins with checkboxes
  • open the bulk action menu
  • apply one action to multiple rows

This is useful when you need to update a group instead of handling admins one by one.

Use Bulk Admin Actions

When you select admin rows, OpenMirai can show bulk actions such as:

  • Set Inactive
  • Set Active
  • Remove Invitation
  • Delete

The available actions depend on the statuses and roles of the selected rows.

For example:

  • Set Inactive appears for active admins
  • Set Active appears for inactive admins
  • Remove Invitation appears for pending invitations
  • Delete appears only for deletable admin accounts

Invite A New Admin

Use the Invite button when you want to add another admin to your organization.

The invite dialog includes:

  • an email field
  • a template role selector
  • a permission search box
  • permission sections
  • permission level dropdowns
  • a Submit button

Choose A Template Role When Inviting

When inviting an admin, you can start from one of these role choices:

  • Super Admin
  • None
  • one of your saved template roles

Use a saved template role when you want the new admin to inherit a standard permission set quickly.

Use None when you want to start with a minimal setup and choose permissions manually.

Review And Set Permissions

The invite dialog organizes permissions into sections such as:

  • Management
  • Analytics
  • Marketing
  • Finance
  • System

Within each section, you can search for a permission and choose an access level such as:

  • No Access
  • Read Only
  • Editor

Use this when you need to control exactly what the new admin can see or change.

Submit The Invitation

To invite a new admin:

  1. Select Invite.
  2. Enter the admin’s email address.
  3. Choose a template role or adjust permissions manually.
  4. Select Submit.

After the invitation is sent, the person appears in the Members tab with an invitation or setup-related state until they finish joining.

Use The Template Roles Tab

Open the Template Roles tab when you want to manage reusable permission templates.

This tab shows:

  • the template role name
  • the number of admins using that template
  • an action menu for editable rows

Use this tab when your organization wants consistent admin permission setups instead of configuring every admin from scratch.

Add A Template Role

Use Add template role when you want to create a reusable permission setup.

The template role dialog includes:

  • a template name field
  • a permission search box
  • permission sections
  • permission level dropdowns

To create a template role:

  1. Select Add template role.
  2. Enter a template name.
  3. Review the permission sections.
  4. Set the access levels you want.
  5. Select New template.

Edit A Template Role

In the Template Roles tab, use the row action menu and select Edit when you want to update an existing template role.

OpenMirai shows the same permissions dialog, but in edit mode. After you finish, select Save changes.

Delete A Template Role

In the Template Roles tab, use Delete when a template role is no longer needed.

OpenMirai asks for confirmation before deleting it.

Some template rows are protected and do not show edit or delete actions. Those rows stay read-only.

If No Admins Or Template Roles Are Found

If the current tab shows no results, one of these is usually true:

  • nothing has been created yet
  • your search does not match anything
  • your filters are too narrow

Try clearing or changing the current search and filters to broaden the results.
