Use the Web Editor for Custom Pages and Layouts

Learn how to open the web editor from Platform Customization, understand the full-screen builder workspace, work with pages and layout controls, and save website changes manually.

This guide explains how to use the web editor in the Admin Platform.

Use it when you want to:

  • open the full-screen page builder
  • work on custom website pages
  • adjust page layouts and content visually
  • move between pages inside the builder
  • save website changes manually

Open The Web Editor

To open the builder:

  1. Go to System > Platform Customization.
  2. Scroll to the Page section.
  3. Select Open web editor.

OpenMirai then opens the web editor in a full-screen workspace.

Understand When To Use The Web Editor

Use the web editor when you want to work on the visual layout and content of your website pages.

This is different from the main Platform Customization page, which is used for broader settings such as:

  • branding
  • fonts
  • SEO
  • custom domain
  • advanced platform settings

Use the web editor when you want deeper control over how pages themselves are arranged and presented.

Understand The Full-Screen Builder Layout

When the builder opens, OpenMirai replaces the normal page layout with a full-screen editing workspace.

The workspace is designed around three main areas:

  • a left page-management area
  • a main editing canvas in the center
  • a settings area on the right

Use this layout when you want to move between pages, adjust the page visually, and review settings without leaving the editor.

Use The Left Page Area

The left side of the builder is used for page management.

Use this area when you want to:

  • review available pages
  • switch from one page to another
  • stay oriented while working across several website pages

Use The Main Editing Canvas

The center of the builder is the main page canvas.

Use this area to review and edit the visual structure of the current page.

This is the best place to work on:

  • page layout
  • section order
  • visible content blocks
  • overall page presentation

Use The Right Settings Area

The right side of the builder is used for page or content settings.

Use this area when you want to adjust the details of what is currently selected in the builder.

This helps you refine the page without leaving the main workspace.

Use The Top Builder Controls

The builder also includes a toolbar area at the top.

Use the top controls when you want to work with the current page and save your changes.

Important detail:

  • the builder does not rely on automatic saving, so you should save your work intentionally from the builder controls

Save Changes Manually

After you make page changes, use the builder’s save control to keep your updates.

This is important because the builder is designed for manual saving rather than silent background saving.

Use this habit especially when:

  • you have changed several sections
  • you are moving to another page
  • you are about to leave the builder

Wait For The Builder To Load

When the web editor first opens, OpenMirai may show a loading screen before the full workspace appears.

During this stage, you may see placeholder areas for:

  • the page list
  • the top toolbar
  • the editing canvas
  • the right settings panel

This is normal while the builder loads its editing tools.

You do not need to select anything during this step.

When the editor is ready, the full workspace opens automatically.

If The Builder Is Still Loading

If the builder has just opened, wait until the loading placeholders disappear and the full editor becomes available.

Do not try to judge the page content until the full workspace has loaded.

Use The Builder For Ongoing Website Work

The web editor is useful when your team needs to improve public-facing pages over time.

For example, use it when you want to:

  • refine page layouts
  • update the structure of branded pages
  • improve how key sections are presented
  • maintain custom website pages after the main platform setup is complete

Return To Platform Customization For Broader Settings

After you finish page-building work, return to Platform Customization when you need to manage broader site settings such as:

  • brand colors
  • logos and favicon
  • fonts
  • page publish status
  • SEO settings
  • domain setup

Use the two areas together:

  • Platform Customization for overall website settings
  • Web editor for visual page-building work
